Entertainment One on Tuesday said it expected to surpass market expectations with its upcoming results on the strength of such properties as Walking Dead (pictured) and Peppa Pig.
“The group is trading well and expects to report results above current market consensus,” the indie producer said in its interim management statement for the period since October 1. 2010.
The company did not report results, only revenue and underlying EBITIDA trends as it looked back on its latest financial quarter.
The Peppa Pig franchise recorded strong Christmas retail sales, the statement said, with overall TV revenues rising by 87% in the nine months to the end of 2010, compared to year-earlier levels, on higher show deliveries.
“Rookie Blue has continued to sell successfully internationally and the second series is due to commence delivery to broadcasters ABC (US) and Global (Canada) by the end of the financial year,” the statement added.
Film revenue during the same period was 34% higher than in the same period of 2009.
And wholesale distribution, the largest part of Entertainment One’s business, saw revenue rise was 5% year-over-year, “outperforming the declining home video market in the 2010 calendar year.”
