Justin Bieber: Never Say Never grossed $29.5 million at the North American multiplex over the weekend, just behind the Adam Sandler-Jennifer Aniston comedy Just Go With It with $30.5 million in ticket receipts.

Paramount’s Justin Bieber biopic, a documentary concert film no less, dominated the young girl audience, with 84% of its viewers being female.

The opening weekend for Never Say Never was better than Michael Jackson’s concert film This is It!

The Maple Leaf also figured in the opening $25.5 million weekend for Entertainment One’s Gnomeo & Juliet, which was animated in Toronto at Starz Entertainment.
