D Films has acquired Paddy Considine’s debut feature Tyrannosaur ahead of its Berlin festival bow.
The deal with British sales agent Protagonist Pictures gives the boutique distributor the Peter Mullan-starrer about a man plagued by violence and driven to self-destruction.
The film, from Warp X and Inflammable Films, originally bowed at Sundance, where Protaganist started negotiations with D Films.
Considine’s directorial bow also stars Eddie Marsan and Olivia Colman.
Strand Releasing will release Tyrannosaur in the U.S. market.
Ben Roberts, Charlotte Van Weede and Simon Osborn negotiated the Canadian deal for Protagonist with Jim Sherry, president and CEO for D Films.
