John Flock has left the top job at Peace Arch Entertainment.
The former Peace Arch CEO has launched a new indie distribution outfit, W2 Media, with film financing experts Warren Nimchuk and Warren Fergus.
The film distributor, with Flock as president and CEO, will have offices in Toronto, Vancouver and Los Angeles.
W2 Media, unveiled in Berlin, will acquire completed films for domestic and international, and will pre-buy rights to “well-packaged projects that have or are likely to have meaningful theatrical distribution in the United States,” the company said.
Flock’s company will also have a finance arm, W2 Entertainment Finance, with to arrange tax credits, gap financing and other production coin.
Nimchuk and Fergus will serve as co-chairmen of W2 Media.
Former Cineplex Odeon and Lionsgate exec Paul Gardner will run the company’s North American distribution effort, and former Peace Arch exec Julie Sultan will handle international sales.
