Teletoon is calling on the power of users as its launches an online contest for aspiring and professional animators to win $10,000 and a trip to the Ottawa International Animation Festival.
Dubbed the Teletoon At Night Pilot Project, derived from its original Teletoon Pilot Project, the user-generated contest invites contestants to submit original, comedic shorts that are animated or animation-related.
“This project gives Teletoon the opportunity to recognize and open a door of possibility to raw and undiscovered creative talent,” notes Teletoon’s VP of marketing Russell Ward in a statement.
Submissions will be featured in a gallery on teletoonatnight.com and teletoonlanuit.com. There, the public can choose a “Fave of the Week” each week and the final five will be chosen by a Teletoon jury for the English and French contests.
The winner will be revealed on-air and online on September 18.
