This is promising: In the dead of winter, Pinewood Toronto Studios is filling up with Hollywood shoots.
Universal Pictures has just wrapped reshoots for the horror feature The Thing, after the prequel to John Carpenter’s 1982 classic feature completed a four month shoot in 2010 at the mega-studio.
Also doing reshoots is Jim Sheridan’s Dream House, which shot in Toronto in winter 2010, only to see little if any snow on the ground for a psychological thriller set in a fierce blizzard.
Also in the can is the first season of Breakout Kings for 20th Century Fox and A&E.
Now prepping for a summer shoot at Pinewood Toronto is Universal’s At the Mountain of Madness 3D, to be directed by The Hobbit co-writer Guillermo del Toro.
Sony Pictures’ Total Recall has yet to move onto its Pinewood Toronto Studios’ soundstages for a location shoot to start in May, with Len Wiseman directing.
Lyn Lucibello and Sabine Graham are production managers on Total Recall.
