Highrise/Out My Window and A Drummer’s Dream have snagged two international awards for the National Film Board of Canada.

Interactive web doc Highrise/Out My Window from Katerina Cizek and Gerry Flahive took home the Cross-Media Prize for School and Youth Education at BakaForum 2011 in Basel, Switzerland, the event fosters TV and other media for global education. The winning project revolves around the lives of residents inhabiting high-rises across 13 cities.

Over at the Festival International des Programmes Audiovisuals (FIPA) in Biarritz, France, A Drummer’s Dream from director John Walker won the FIPA d’Or Grand Prize in the Performing Arts category. The feature-length doc takes a look at some of the world’s greatest drummers.
