Antic Entertainment tops indie game development competition

Canadian indie game studio Antic Entertainment has won a game development competition mounted by Korean games publisher Nexon, with $1 million in project financing at stake.

London, Ontario-based Antic, which is run by former Dice Studio execs, was one of around 100 indie game developers that submitted proposed games to Nexon, with only two winning projects chosen.

Besides a still-to-be unveiled social gaming product to come from Antic, the Korean publisher also chose a game project from Poland-based One2Tribe to similarly develop, fund and publish.

Antic is best known for Junk Wars, a free-to-play vehicle combat game playable in a PC browser.

Nexon was looking for indie online PC game titles, or social network games, as part of its indie game development competition.
