Ben Cotton has snagged a series regular role in the upcoming Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome prequel series.

Cotton (Fathers and Sons, The Day The Earth Stood Still, Riese) will play the role of Coker, the commanding officer to a young William Adama during the first Cylon war.

The series is being produced by David Eick Productions with NBC Universal and Syfy, replacing the recently pulled prequel Caprica on Syfy. It’s slated to begin shooting in Vancouver early this year, with a late 2011 to early 2012 broadcast.
