Choke lands Sundance HM

The 2011 Sundance Film Festival jury may have given the Jury Prize in Short Filmmaking to Brick Novax pt 1 and 2 (Matt Piedmont), but they awarded Canuck Michelle Latimer’s Choke an honorable mention.

The eerie and evocative short was written and directed by Latimer, who co-produced under her Streel Films banner with A71 Productions’ David Miller (Amal).

The film is off to the Rotterdam fest next.

The 2011 Short Film jurors were Barry Jenkins (director/writer, Medicine for Melancholy); Kim Morgan (Film and Culture writer, Sunset Gun, The Hitlist) and Sara Bernstein (VP, HBO Documentary films; supervising producer, Baghdad ER).
