Entertainment One has in Peppa Pig the biggest-selling pre-school toy license in the UK market.
And that translates into impressive ancillary revenues, the indie producer reported Tuesday.
British licensing and merchandising retail sales for Peppa Pig reached a record £200m ($315 million) in 2010, Entertainment One revealed, up from a year-earlier £150 million ($236.7 million).
The indie producer said the Peppa Pig pre-school toy license in Britain last year surpassed in revenue the top position previously held by the Thomas the Tank Engine line of merchandise and toys.
The Peppa Pig animated TV series is set to debut on Nick Jr. in February as part of the U.S. roll-out of the kids TV property by licensing and merchandising rights-holder Entertainment One.
