Flashpoint wins post-Superbowl slot

With the ratings CTV has been garnering for NFL of late, there’s little surprise one of the net’s biggest homegrown series has won the coveted post-Superbowl slot on Sunday, February 6.

CTV is quoting an average audience of more than 2.12 million viewers (BBM, 2+) for the AFC Championship on Sunday night. That same afternoon, an average audience of 2.11 million viewers tuned in for the NFC Championship. The two games rank in the top four highest-rated NFL playoff audiences ever in Canada, just behind last year’s NFC and AFC championships.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers will face-off in Super Bowl XLV next Sunday – and following the game, viewers will see the Flashpoint third season finale cliff-hanger. The series has experienced double digit growth in the key adult demos this installment, kicking off the post-holiday mid-season with 1.7 million viewers on Jan. 4.

Look for this season’s wrap to be carried to new heights by the six-million-plus viewers expected for the football finale.
