Actor Peter Donaldson, 58, passed Saturday after a two-year battle with lung cancer.

Donaldson boasts a wide body of work, including roles in films like The Sweet Hereafter and Caesar and Cleopatra, as well as hit TV series such as Emily of New Moon and Avonlea.

He was perhaps best known however for his long service to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, at which he had spent 24 years.
