Kevin McDonald to top-line Papillon for Bite TV

Kids in the Hall alum Kevin McDonald is to top-line Papillon, the web series from indie producers Duopoly and Farmhouse Productions.

The web comedy, originally developed by exec producer Catherine Tait and the late Paul Quarrington, will stream first in Canada on bite.ca, before migrating for broadcast on Bite TV.

Internet platform Babelgum has picked up the web series for the U.S. market.

McDonald is to play Darius, a co-pilot that fears flying, in the comedy about a group of misfits that operate a discount airline out of Windsor, Ontario.

Production on Papillon is set to start on January 11.

The ensemble cast includes David Fraser, Hannah Cheeseman and Randal Edwards.

The series script is by Mark Steinberg (Billable Hours, The Dating Guy).

Duopoly is headed up by Catherine Tait, while producer and director Kent Sobey runs Farmhouse Productions.
