Muse hires Kennedy to run London sales arm

Having launched a Los Angeles office two years ago, indie producer Muse Entertainment is targeting Europe by hiring veteran Canadian distributor Cynthia Kennedy as its director of international sales, based in London.

Kennedy, who went to the UK market in 1998 as a sales executive for Cinar Corp, stuck around to shop programming for Channel Four International, AETN International, History and ID Distribution, among others.

Now Muse has hired Kennedy to shop its own content made for the global market, including high-profile mini-series like The Pillars of the Earth, The Fountain, Durham County (pictured) and The Kennedys.

Kennedy will target international conventional and cable broadcasters, and the DVD market.

“Muse has now reached a new plateau in its steady rise,” explained Jesse Prupas, vice-president of distribution. “With Cynthia Kennedy in our team, we’ll be in a position to better service the international media markets and be also closer to our European customers.”
