The CFC’s ongoing short film competition Shortsnonstop has named the winner of its quarterly $1,500 cash prize, awarded in conjunction with Telus.
Colombia’s Miguel Otalora beat out nine finalists with his black humor short The Bet, as selected by an international jury. Along with the cash, his film will also be available to Telus’ wireless, ADSL and TV VOD clients as well as at the CFC Worldwide Short Film Festival awards preshow next June.
The other finalists will also benefit from Telus’ promotion and distribution, including three shorts from Canada: Coffee Stop by Greg Doble, Scarecrow by Kaloian Tcherkezov, and Nex Venatus by Boban Valdovitch.
Additionally, the CFC announced that Jonathan Aube is the winner of its first Audience Award for his 60-second action short Pocket Dial.
The next prize date is January 15, 2011. The CFC accepts entries to Shortsnonstop on an ongoing basis at www.shortsnonstop.com, and submissions can be viewed there as well as on iThentic.com and its partners.
