On the heels of the March 1 launch date announcement for the Oprah Winfrey Network comes news that it’s picked up Anna and Kristina’s Grocery Bag.
The lifestyle series from Worldwide Bag Media and W Network is the first Canuck series that’s been sold to OWN in the US. It’s slated to air in the daytime block beginning January 3, 2011.
Grocery Bag follows the titular hosts as they recreate recipes in cookbooks.
Picture Box Distribution has also previously sold the series to MTV Finland, Vivolta (France), Canal + (Poland), Beep Omnimedia (Italy), LiTV (Asia), TV Paprika (Hungary), and MGM (Latin America).
Corus Entertainment is making OWN available in Canada through a license agreement with the Harpo/Discovery Communications joint venture. OWN will launch in more than six million homes on the current Viva channel.
