Appealing to filmmakers who have moved into live production, the CFC has teamed up with Cirque du Soleil for a new series of masterclasses.

The new collaboration will help foster relationships between the CFC’s growing roster of indie and artistic directors, and the creatives behind the world-renowned entertainment company.

Award-winning director François Girard (The Red Violin, Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould) will lead the first master class on directing live performances on November 6. Girard himself has created a Cirque show (Zed) and is in the midst of working on two other live productions, including one for Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
