Mike Holmes launches magazine stateside

TV repair guru Mike Holmes has become a brand name on HGTV U.S. with his Canadian-made Holmes on Homes and Holmes Inspection series having established a growing American audience.

So now it’s onto launching Holmes, The Magazine stateside with an eight-city promotional tour on the U.S. eastern seaboard.

“It’s another tool that’s a smart way for you to understand what you need to know, and that you can’t do it yourself,” Holmes told Playback Daily of the Holmes Magazine debut from November 16 in partnership with Dauphin Media Group and Time Warner Retail.

The launch tour will start in Nashville on November 18, and end on November 26 in Chicago, with stops in between in Charlotte, New York City and Pittsburgh.

Holmes, who insists he’s hard-pressed to pass through a U.S. shopping mall these days without signing autographs and shaking hands, was more recently a judge on the U.S.-based HGTV channel’s American Handyman reality competition series, produced by indie Canadian producer Firvalley Productions.
