Toronto news station CP24 is reporting strong BBM numbers for its Monday night election coverage.
The news network says two million viewers 2+ showed up for its 7-11:30 p.m. coverage, with 1.2 million additional page views on the CP24.com website that night – triple the site’s average daily views. CP24 also claims credit for being the first outlet to declare for new mayor Rob Ford at 8:08 p.m.
From 8-11 p.m., CP24 had the biggest reach with 1,815,000 viewers and was second in number of viewers with 257,000 (average minute audience) to parent net CTV. CTV reached 1,806,000 viewers, and had an average minute audience of 402,000.
