Score Media swings to Q4 profit on revenue gains

Cross-platform revenue gains helped Score Media on Thursday swing to a fourth quarter profit.

The Toronto-based broadcaster posted earnings of $1.1 million to August 31, against a loss of $676,000 in 2009, as fourth quarter revenue jumped 18% to $10.52 million.

For full-year 2010, Score Media rang up a profit of $2.5 million, against a year-earlier loss of $1.4 million on revenue of $43.8 million, compared to $38.8 million in 2009.

As Score Media continues to branch out into emerging digital media platforms, the broadcaster increased revenue across its theScore TV network, theScore.com and Score Mobile services.

The broadcaster most recently unveiled theScore iPad edition.
