Now at an AMC multiplex near you: a super-sized Imax screen.

The U.S. exhibition giant on Friday quietly launched Imax screens at three Toronto multiplexes, including its flagship downtown location at Yonge and Dundas Street, and at a 24 screen multiplex in Kanata, Ontario.

AMC also plans a fifth screen at its Montreal Forum multiplex to launch in late 2010.

The U.S. exhibitor is planning an official launch of its four Canadian Imax screens on October 22, with the debut of Paranormal Activity 2 from Paramount Pictures.

The Canadian expansion by AMC was part of a giant 100 theatre deal first signed with Imax in 2007, and recently expanded with additional screens.
