The Showcase back-door pilot Befriend & Betray from DHX Media and screenwriter Michael Amo (The Listener) has started shooting in Toronto, with Byran Mann and Tim Rozon in lead roles.

The ensemble cast includes Christine Horne, Klea Scott, Tom Jackson and Steph Song.

Ken Girotti is directing the pilot, which is based on a true story about a civilian infiltrator-for-hire who helps law enforcement agencies battle some of the world’s most dangerous criminal organizations.

Amo adapted the book Befriend & Betray by Alex Caine, which investigates the Hells Angels and Bandidos crime syndicates, to develop the TV drama.

Executive producing Befriend & Betray is Amo, Charles Bishop and Floyd Kane. John Calvert is the lead producer.
