APTN has elected Dan Vandal as chairperson of the network’s 21-seat board of directors.
Vandal, a former Deputy Mayor of Winnipeg and long-serving city councilor, played an instrumental role in the development of the First Steps – Municipal Aboriginal Pathways report, a document which serves as the Winnipeg’s blueprint for future municipal-Aboriginal relations. He has been on the APTN board since 2005.
“It is a great privilege and honor to have been elected as chairperson and to be provided with the opportunity to lead APTN through its next phase of growth,” said Mr. Vandal. “APTN has made great strides in its 11 years of existence, and as we move into our preparations for the network’s re-licensing in 2012, we look forward to sharing even more exciting developments with our viewers and stakeholders across the globe.”
Also elected to the executive were Anne Crawford as vice chair, member representative, Inuit Broadcasting Corporation; Donna Wuttunee, treasurer, director-at-large, Alberta; and Jocelyn Formsma, secretary, director-at-large, Ontario.
