Tattersall wins TIFF Emerging Filmmaker award

Jane Tattersall’s Hot Water has won the top prize at TIFF’s Emerging Filmmakers Competition, an accolade accompanied by a $15,000 prize.

Stephen Dunn’s Swallowed followed up with an honorable mention (a $10,000 prize), and was also named fan favorite (tack on an extra $5,000).

The theme for this year’s Competition was water – each participant is given a video and $500 to make a film on the subject. The Emerging Filmmakers Competition was launched in 2009

Observed Piers Handling, director and CEO of TIF, “The Emerging Filmmakers Competition has given us the chance to see how these talented filmmakers put all of their knowledge they develop during the Talent Lab program to use.”
