Out of the former Infinity Features, founded a decade ago by the late Bill Vince in Vancouver, has come Foundation Features, and now an exclusive first-look development deal with boutique distributor D Films in Toronto.

Vancouver-based producers Rob Merilees and Dave Valleau at Foundation will partner with D Films on a slate of upcoming features after the success of Infinity titles like Capote and The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.

“Rob and Dave are extremely talented filmmakers and we are proud to be their long-term distribution partners,” D Films president Jim Sherry said.

The long-term deal aims to enable Foundation Features to develop projects with top writing and directing talent, and see them potentially be released by Toronto-based D Films.

“I’ve always had tremendous respect for Jim and his work, and I’m very excited about the team he has put together at D Films,” Rob Merilees, who hammered out the multi-year development deal with Sherry, said.
