A number of high-profile projects will be receiving support in the latest round of Astral’s Harold Greenberg Fund’s English-language program via the Equity Investment Program.
Recipients include just-wrapped feature Take This Waltz from writer and director Sarah Polley, which previously received support through The Fund’s Script Development Program. Polley is also a co-producer with Accent Entertainment’s Susan Cavan.
The Moth Diaries, written and directed by Mary Harron (American Psycho, The Notorious Betty Paige) tells the story of a haunted young girl battling suspicion of being a vampire. Also Goon written by Evan Goldberg (Superbad) and Jay Baruchel (Knocked Up) and to be directed by Mike Dowse (Fubar II).
Others include lower-budget such as Bruce MacDonald’s Trigger, written by Daniel MacIvor, which will be featured at this year’s TIFF, and Roller Town from comedy troupe Picnicface, written by Andrew Bush, Mark Little and Scott Vrooman.
