Five producers have been shortlisted for the CMPA (nee CFTPA) Feature Film Producer’s Award. The award comes with a $10,000 cash prize and is given out during TIFF, on September 9.
The nominees are:
• Roger Frappier for Crying out (A L’origine d’un cri) – Max Films
• Daniel Iron, The Bang Bang Club – Foundry FIlms
• Jennifer Jonas, Trigger – New Real Films
• Michael McGowan, Score: A Hockey Musical – Mulmur Feed Co.
• Denise Robert, Route 132 – Cinémaginaire
The Feature Film Producer’s Award was founded in partnership with TIFF in 2006 to “recognize the vision and entrepreneurship of an outstanding Canadian producer whose body of work demonstrates commitment and passion for the profession.”
Last years’ winner was Kevin Tierney (pictured) for The Trotsky. Tierney served as chair of the 2010 award jury.
