BFS Entertainment & Multimedia has landed Kip Spidell as its new president of BFS Film & Television Productions. Spidell, nee of indie prodco Kip Spidell Factual and former head of production at Ellis Entertainment, brings a long track-record of award-winning factual to the production entity.

Spidell, who has produced extensively for National Geographic, Discovery, History, Animal Planet and others, said he was ‘looking forward to joining… BFS and building a technology-savvy, state-of-the-art production company. In combining BFS’s existing direct-to-the-consumer distribution pipelines with productions destined for broadcast in a variety of factual genres, and with a willingness to embrace new ways of story-telling, we are prepared for whatever the future of television holds. ‘

BFS Entertainment & Multimedia has traditionally licensed, acquired and co-produced content for direct-to-consumer distribution channels. Picking up Spidell would suggest the company is putting a stronger emphasis on original content in the future.
