Sitting on your first or second feature script? The National Screen Institute wants to talk to you.

The NSI’s Features First training program has opened for submissions from filmmaking teams with a feature script ready to go. Teams selected to participate will be paired with industry mentors, and gain insight into aspects of the business side of development, script and story development, market research, legal requirements and more.

Up to four teams will be chosen for the 10-month program, each selected based on the strength of their film concepts, as well as development potential and film project packaging.

The Jim Murphy Filmmakers Bursary, a $2,500 award, will also be given to a team in the Features First program that develops an inventive and creatively integrated marketing plan.
