Award-winning visual effects supervisor Steven Eric Hodgson, 50, died suddenly while on the set of the upcoming Stars’ TV series Camelot. Hodgson had been battling cancer.
Hodgson won a Leo and was nominated for a Gemini for his work on the 2008 mini-series Impact, and was nominated for both a Leo and a Gemini for The Collector in 2005. Recently, he had worked on features such as Hot Tub Time Machine, The Uninvited and Shattered.
Born in Scotland in 1959, Hodgson was based in Vancouver. He is survived by his wife Patricia and children Michael, Lawrence, Madison and Elizabeth. A funeral will be held in Cobham, Surrey (U.K.) on July 1.
