White exits Writers Guild

The Writers Guild of Canada is looking for a new representative for the Atlantic region after Sherry White recently stepped down from the council.

The Newfoundland-based scribe, who had been repping the region since 2007, said she wanted to devote her time and focus to other projects now in the works.

White wrote and directed the feature drama Crackie last year, and also worked on cop series Rookie Blue, which premiered last week on Global and ABC. Her other TV credits include CBC’s Sophie and hockey drama M.V.P.

The WGC plans to hold an election with its membership in the coming weeks to find a new councilor for the Atlantic region.
