The Ceeb has appointed Jenny Hacker as creative head of comedy. Hacker takes over from former topper Anton Leo, who jumps to a newly created position – senior executive in charge of production for live comedy. Both report to Sally Catto, executive director of arts and entertainment.
Hacker joined the CBC in 2007 as executive in charge of development for CBC Comedy, having served in positions at CTV and the former Alliance Atlantis. A graduate of Osgoode Hall, Hacker has previously written comedy for television and radio, despite being a trained lawyer.
Leo has served as creative head on a variety of the CBC’s most successful series, including Kids in the Hall: Death Comes to Town, Little Mosque on the Prairie and This Hour Has 22 Minutes, among others.
