Interior design amateurs tend to think they have better taste than the experts, and a new show from W Network will give them the chance to prove it.
The half-hour series Inside the Box with Ty Pennington — from the Corus Entertainment-owned station and Cineflix Productions — starts filming this month, with direct involvement from the TV design expert.
In each episode, two contestants (friends, relatives, neighbors or work colleagues) will be given a team and 48 hours to create a themed room in each of their homes. The catch is they can only use the materials that arrive in a mystery crate.
The contents of each crate are chosen by Pennington, and they will be based on his interpretation of the contestants’ unique styles, with the intent to challenge them. The TV host made a name for himself in the industry after the popularity of shows like Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and Ty’s Great British Adventure.
The 13-ep show targets women aged 25 to 54 and is set to air in the fall.
