Joseph Sparacio has re-upped with IMAX for two more years, the Toronto-based company confirmed on Tuesday.
The executive VP and CFO joined the large-format film company’s New York office in 2007 during a troubled time as IMAX was hit with a series of shareholder lawsuits which alleged that the company misled investors during its search for a buyer in 2006. The case is still before the courts.
An accountant by trade, he helped guide a transition from film to digital projection and joint-venture theaters. According to an SEC filing, Sparacio will earn $385,000 annually effective May 14. He reports to CEO Richard L. Gelfond.
Before joining IMAX, Sparacio was an executive with Loews Cineplex Entertainment and programming company In Demand.
