Bell airs Masters in 3D

Bell TV is hopping on the 3D bandwagon, and will become the country’s first 3D TV provider when it beams rounds three and four of the 2010 Masters Tournament this weekend in the next dimension.

The golf tourney will be available on channel 1000 in commercial-free 3D HD this weekend, the satellite provider said Friday. Viewing the match would require a 3D-ready TV and special glasses.

Bell acknowledged that there are few 3D-ready televisions in Canadian homes. Such sets are slowly arriving on the Canadian market and cost between roughly $2,500 and $4,000. ‘But Bell is committed to being at the forefront of television innovation, and we’ll continue to expand our 3D TV lineup as more quality content becomes available,’ said exec Heather Tulk in a statement.
