Three-peat for Proper

Discovery Channel Canada has greenlit three reality series from producer Proper TV after runaway ratings for the indie producer’s Canada’s Worst Driver series.

Proper sold Inventions That Shook the World, a 10-part doc series that showcases 20th century discoveries from the taser and the disposable razor to kitty litter and the Internet over one-hour episodes.

Discovery also picked up The Real Superhumans and the Quest for the Future Fantastic, a 4 x 60 doc series about genetic engineering based on the original award-winning HD feature doc that earned the best Canadian program trophy at the 2008 Banff World Television Awards.

Discovery also picked up the second season of Junk Raiders, or six one-hour episodes. The eco-friendly home reno series airs on ION Life stateside and in France, Germany, Poland, Hungary and Australia.

All three series will be shopped at MIPTV for sale outside North America by ITV Worldwide as part of an output deal with Proper.
