GLEE-FM takes to the airwaves

This will either make you want to turn it up to 11, or hide under your desk: Toronto radio station 103.9 Proud FM will on Monday be all Glee, all day long. In a promotional event for the new season, the station will devote itself to the songs that have helped catapult the Global show into a top-rated hit.

Familiar classics like Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing, Queen’s Somebody to Love and John Lennon’s Imagine are just some of the chart-toppers that will be broadcast by the temporarily christened GLEE-FM, sung both by the original artists and cast members as taken from the albums Glee: The Music Volumes 1 and 2 and the soon-to-be-released The Power of Madonna.

Cast interviews, behind-the-scenes info, and hourly CD prize packs will also quicken the pulse of the most devoted Glee fan, or ‘Gleek,’ as will the grand prize: a trip for two to New York to see a date of the sold-out Glee U.S. concert tour.

The station will also broadcast at www.globaltv.com/gleefm throughout the day and feature a performance by a street-singing choir.

Glee returns to Global on April 13 for a one-time 9:25 p.m. airing. Subsequent episodes will air regularly on Tuesdays at 9 p.m.
