Decode Enterprises has closed two broadcast deals for Halifax Film’s sketch comedy series That’s So Weird! in advance of next month’s MIPTV.
Boomerang Latin America and Nickelodeon Australia both snagged 13 episodes of the half-hour series for tweens and teens, which airs here on YTV.
The show features young sketch comedy players who operate their own small cable TV network, So Weird TV, in a high school setting.
‘That’s So Weird! combines the best in tween comedy with great characters in a sketch comedy format. It’s an innovative mix that has proved to be a great fit for YTV and we are sure will win new fans on these channels,’ commented Decode’s SVP of distribution Josh Scherba in a release.
Decode holds worldwide rights to the series, which will also be shopped at MIPTV, alongside new episodes of established shows including Martha Speaks and Animal Mechanicals, in addition to new Halifax Film offering Pirates, Adventures in Art.
So Weird! is created by Jeff Copeland and co-exec produced by Gary Pearson, Michael Donovan, Charles Bishop and Floyd Kane.
