Industry vet Alan Gregg is joining Teletoon, where the one-time Alliance exec will take up the post of director of original content on April 19.

The role will see him handle development and production for Teletoon’s two English and two French channels, and its respective multiplatform services. Gregg will be responsible for the original production teams in Toronto and Montreal, and will also work closely with production partners across the country.

‘We are thrilled to have Alan helm Teletoon’s original content portfolio with the extensive experience he has in children’s television content,’ said VP of programming Carole Bonneau, to whom Gregg will report, in a release.

Gregg’s experience in children’s television includes several exec roles at Alliance Atlantis and a VP of international production post at Irish animation studio Brown Bag Films, for which he opened the Toronto office. Most recently he story edited a new preschool series for Guru Studio.
