E1 Entertainment has signed a first-look deal with screenwriter David Hayter and his partner Benedict Carver. The two-year agreement covers all projects developed by the pair through their Dark Hero Studios shingle. Dark Hero will operate out of E1’s offices in L.A.
The two companies crossed paths earlier this year with Push, the upcoming series adaptation of the 2009 sci-fi film. The Push series is being jointly developed and produced by E1, Dark Hero and Summit Entertainment.
Hayter is also working on his directorial debut, Wolves, but is better known for penning recent superhero hits such as Watchmen and the first two X-Men movies. Carver has produced titles including Doomsday and Beat the World.
‘David has a truly unique voice and has created incredible, unforgettable worlds in so many features. Crossing that voice over into television with the benefit of E1’s development strengths is sure to produce something innovative and amazing’, said E1’s Noreen Halpern in a statement.
