VH1 has picked up the Whistler, BC-based docusoap Peak Season to run over 10 nights from Feb. 14 just as its American audience turns its gaze on next month’s 2010 Winter Olympics from Whistler/Vancouver.
The 10-episode, CTV and MTV Canada unscripted series follows the lives and loves of a tight-knit group of young people in Whistler, and will air nightly on the U.S. specialty channel as Peak Season: Vancouver at 11:30 p.m.
Peak Season was originally pitched at Banff in June 2007 by Vancouver writer Grant Fraggalosch and developed by indie producer Free Form Productions for CTV and MTV. Showrunners Evan Prager and Jesse Ignjatovic of Los Angeles-based Den of Thieves (Meet the Barkers) shot the docusoap in Whistler in March-April 2009.
VH1 reaches 95 million households in the U.S. market.
