Vancouver is set to host Seth Rogen’s serio-comic cancer movie, which is back on track after switching directors in November. The project – untitled, though known as I’m With Cancer – will shoot in Vancouver starting next month for Mandate Pictures.
Jonathan Levine (The Wackness) steps in for erstwhile director Nicole Holofcener, who left the project late last year, reportedly because of disagreements over locations.
Rogen, a Vancouver native, will produce and also star alongside James MacAvoy, who leads as a cancer-ridden twentysomething. The story is drawn from the real-life illness of screenwriter Will Reiser.
Anna Kendrick of Up in the Air and the forthcoming Scott Pilgrim vs. the World also stars as a psychologist assigned to the young man’s case. Also producing are Evan Goldberg and execs Nathan Kahane and Will Reiser.
