A Vancouver man has been charged in connection with a bizarre carjacking that left actors Carly Pope and Kris Pope in hospital with broken bones and other injuries.

The sister and brother were stopped at a light in downtown Vancouver on the morning of Dec. 30 when, according to reports, a stranger jumped on the hood of their black BMW, screaming.

Kris Pope left the car to call police while his sister remained behind. The man then jumped in the driver’s seat, put the car in reverse and backed into oncoming traffic, hitting four other cars before crashing through the glass wall of the local CBC offices. The siblings and a bystander were injured in the incident.

Carly Pope, 29, seen recently in 24, Californication and Young People Fucking, reportedly suffered a broken rib and cuts to her face. Kris Pope, 31, seen on The L Word and with his sister in Yeti: Curse of the Snow Demon, told Canadian Press he had a broken wrist and a ‘smashed up face.’ All were released from hospital within hours of the incident.

David Fomradas, 31, formerly of Alberta, has reportedly been charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and dangerous driving.
