Emmanuelle Vaugier has joined the cast of Human Target, the new Fox action series set to debut after American Idol in January.

The Vancouver native, now based in L.A., will play an FBI agent in the show, about a mysterious private detective who contracts himself out as a bodyguard. It is based on the DC Comics title. Target also stars Chi McBride (Pushing Daisies) and Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen).

The series premieres Friday Jan. 15 at 10 p.m. on CTV, before moving to its regular out-of-simulcast Monday slot on Jan. 18 at 8 p.m. In the U.S., it will air Wednesdays after Idol.

Vaugier, whose television credits include CSI: NY, Two and a Half Men and the TV movie Painkiller Jane, will also appear in Fox’s upcoming horror sequel Mirrors 2, opposite Nick Stahl. The feature is slated for a direct-to-DVD release.
