Movie Central and The Movie Network have picked up Less Than Kind, adding the Winnipeg-set sitcom to their joint effort HBO Canada. The series, now in its second season, will bow on HBO in February. Season one will run on the on-demand channels for both TMN and MC.
The series, seen previously on the Citytv stations, is a coproduction by Breakthrough Films & Television and Buffalo Gal Pictures, under showrunner Mark McKinney.
‘Less Than Kind is a creatively ambitious show with a superb cast and a distinct comedic tone the likes of which The Movie Network and Movie Central have always embraced. This feels like we are coming home,’ said McKinney in a statement.
Guest stars in season two include Dave Foley (Kids in the Hall), George Wendt (Cheers) and Shaun Majumder (This Hour Has 22 Minutes). Bruce MacDonald (Pontypool) directs alongside Kelly Makin (Flashpoint) and James Dunnison (Robson Arms).
