• CTV has ordered a third season of So You Think You Can Dance Canada, which will start talent-spotting next month in Toronto. The reality dance-off is in the final leg of its second run — averaging some 1.4 million viewers and due to wrap up with a two-hour finale on Oct. 25. So You Think You Can Dance Canada

Salt + Light Television is flush with cash following an Oct. 14 fundraiser in Toronto that netted $1.9 million for the Catholic-aimed cable channel — more than half of which is earmarked for new programming on ‘the teachings of Pope Benedict XVI on interfaith relations.’ The six-year-old digichannel is also a charitable organization.

• British talent Michael Nardone (Rome, Ben Hur) has joined the cast of Durham County, now shooting its third, six-hour season in Montreal. He plays the bad guy to Hugh Dillon’s angst-y cop and family man Mike Sweeney. The Muse series drew praise (‘entirely addictive’) in a recent New York Times review.

• Still chasing the Hollywood dream in impractical shoes, Carla Collins has started work on a second season of Carlawood. The Lone Eagle Entertainment series returns to TVtropolis in the spring.

• Shortsmaker Ryan Redford (Murmur, Song of Wreckage) is shooting his first feature in North Bay, ON for The Film Works. The drama Oliver Sherman stars Garret Dillahunt as a war veteran who reconnects with a man who once saved his life. Molly Parker and Donal Logue also star.
