Bell deal puts TMN online

The Movie Network is putting its programming online via an agreement with Bell TV. The pay channel on Tuesday said that its new TMN Online service will make a selection of its movies and series available over the Internet to subscribers of Bell’s satellite system.

The service streams 130 hours of programming per week, 25% of which will be changed weekly. The agreement ends years of talks between the Astral-owned channel, which operates in eastern Canada, and Bell.

Neither company will say how many subscribers are covered by the offer, except that it’s a ‘significant number,’ according to one spokesperson.

‘By working with Astral Media to deliver TMN Online, customers can get movies and shows on demand with the convenience of watching on their computer or laptop wherever they can access the Internet,’ said Bell exec Kevin Crull in a statement.
