Chocolate Liberation Front has announced several interactive commissions from Canuck and Australian broadcasters for projects such as the upcoming CBC Kids in the Hall reunion show Death Comes to Town.

The Toronto- and Melbourne-based production startup is working on a multiplatform extension of the eight-episode serialized comedy — co-written by and co-starring Kids in the Hall members Mark McKinney Dave Foley, Scott Thompson, Bruce McCulloch and Kevin McDonald. The half-hours will debut on CBC in 2010.

CLF is also developing interactive content for the documentary feature Cane Toads, from director Mark Lewis, which is being produced by his Australia-based Radio Pictures shingle for Participant, Discovery Network U.S., and ABC Australia. In addition, the prodco is helping develop a linear TV series and interactive content for Vishus Productions’ animated series Figaro Pho — airing on ABC TV.

‘Each of these projects allows us to explore innovative new tools and technological approaches,’ commented CLF’s Frank Verheggen, who heads up the company alongside former ABC TV exec Dan Fill and former CBC creative head of interactive media Shawn Bailey. ‘We hope to continue to attract international partners looking for our unique cross-platform expertise,’ he adds.

The deals for CLF follow recent news of its first major multiplatform development project — The World of Infinite Curiosity — which is being produced as a video game and primetime TV series. CLF will be shopping the concept — about a young boy’s fantasies as he studies the inventions of Leonardo da Vinci — at MIPCOM.
