Peace Arch Entertainment has hired former Corus Entertainment programming exec Jennifer Graham to head up its Canadian program sales division.
Graham, most recently associate director of programming at Corus, becomes vice-president of sales and acquisitions, selling Peace Arch movies and TV series to Canadian broadcasters, pay-TV and video-on-demand and other ancillary platforms.
Peace Arch also handles Canadian sales for supply partners like RHI Entertainment and Vision Films.
Graham, who was a TV sales exec at Alliance Atlantis for four years until 2001, will also acquire new movie and TV titles for Canadian sales.
Her appointment came as Peace Arch revealed Tuesday that it has failed to secure financial information from third-party production houses and sub-distributors regarding financing and accounting for 13 movies made during the 2006 fiscal year. That information is required before Peace Arch can finalize its annual financial statements to Aug. 31, 2008 and see shares on the Toronto Stock Exchange resume trading, and a cloud over its continued New York Stock Exchange Amex listing removed.
In its latest update, Peace Arch said it expects to resume trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange no later than Nov. 30 after it files its fiscal 2009 results.
At the same time, the producer offered no guarantee it will obtain an unqualified audit opinion for fiscal 2008 or fiscal 2009, or file an annual report for fiscal 2008, to satisfy outstanding regulatory concerns.
